Green Holidays

 Our Green Credentials

At Laga Farm we try to do our bit for the environment. Our aim is to have a low carbon footprint and support the local flora and fauna where we can.

In 2013 we created a native woodland on the farm, planting 110,000 native trees. The woodland is now well established and already we can see the increase in wildflowers, birds and insects in this new habitat. It is a lovely place to wander about and has some fantastic views out over Loch Sunart and out to Mull.

We have a commitment to the eradication of non native invasive species of plants on the farm such as Rhododenderon.

We have also built a micro hydroelectric power plant, this is very small and has no adverse impact on the environment but does generate nearly all of the power that we use annually on the farm. The power turbines are made from recycled plastic and the pipeline taking water down the hill to the turbines is recycled used pipe.

We actively encourage “Staycation” this is where guests stay within the local area during their holiday, there is so much to do and see locally and we encourage people to stay local, unwind, slow down and get the best experience from their time at our amazing location. By doing this you help us to help the planet and get the most out of your time in this beautiful environment.
